Orthokeratology, more commonly referred to as ‘OrthoK’, is a revolutionary treatment to correct your vision while you sleep. It is a convenient, non-surgical alternative to vision correction without spectacles or day-time contact lenses. OrthoK involves the use of custom-designed, highly oxygen-permeable corneal reshaping lenses that gently alter the shape of the cornea while you sleep.

OrthoK was first introduced in the 1960’s. Over the past twenty years, improvements in technology have seen the development of OrthoK as a viable alternative to glasses, day-time contact lenses and refractive surgery.

OrthoK works best up to 4 units of short-sightedness (myopia) and 2 units of astigmatism however, our optometrists are highly experienced in the area or OrthoK, and treat higher degrees of myopia as well as hyperopia. Suitability for treatment is determined on a case-by-case basis.

For more information about our OrthoK program, please call the staff at Vision Camberwell to arrange a comprehensive examination and eligibility consultation.
