Colour, Character and Parisian Design

Face à Face brings an expressive approach to everyday eyewear. Founded in 1995, the brand draws on modern art, architecture, design and fashion, with collections developed by its Paris design team. 1

The appeal is in the details: a shape that feels different when you put it on, a colour that lifts your face, or an unexpected contrast that makes a familiar style your own. You do not have to choose the boldest pair in the room. Trying several designs can help you discover how much colour and character feels right for you.

Thoughtful Design, Specialist Craftsmanship

Designed in Paris, crafted across three countries

Face à Face works with manufacturing partners in France, Italy and Japan and has its own finishing workshop in the French Jura. Its French collections carry Origine France Garantie certification; this does not mean every frame in the wider range is made in France. 1

If the origin of a particular frame matters to you, ask us to check its details when you visit.

Materials that shape the look

The brand works with materials including acetate, titanium, aluminium and stainless steel, depending on the design. Its cellulose acetate is made using cellulose from cotton and wood pulp, and can be layered to create combinations of colour and transparency. 2

In person, we can help you compare the feel, proportions and finish of individual frames. A photograph may catch your eye, but trying a frame on is where you discover whether it feels like you.

Why We Love Helping You Choose Face à Face

Choosing glasses is personal. Some people know exactly what they like; others find their favourite pair is one they would never have picked from the display. We can help you explore both possibilities, with attention to the frame’s appearance, fit and suitability for your lenses.

Bring your current glasses if you have them. Tell us what you enjoy wearing, what you would change and where your glasses tend to slip or feel uncomfortable. These small details give us a useful starting point.

A closer look at Bocca

Bocca is one of Face à Face’s most recognisable collections, with playful temples that take the form of legs and shoes. 3 It is a detail worth seeing from the side as well as straight on.

Ask us about our current Bocca selection, optical frames and sunglasses. If you are looking for a specific model or colour, contact us before visiting so we can confirm what is available to try.

Explore beyond your usual shape

You might arrive looking for a familiar shape and discover that a different proportion or colour suits you just as well. You can also explore our wider designer eyewear collection if you would like to compare Face à Face with other brands at the practice.

Prescription Lenses Chosen for You

The frame is one part of your glasses. Your prescription, lens choice and the way the frame sits on your face all need to work together. We will assess the suitability of your preferred frame for your prescription and discuss options for the tasks that matter to you, such as reading, working at a screen or moving between different viewing distances. Some frame and prescription combinations offer more suitable options than others, so we will explain any limitations before you decide.

If you are interested in sunglasses, ask us about prescription possibilities for the particular design. Suitability needs to be checked for the individual frame and prescription.

Plan Your In-Store Styling Visit

You do not need to have a shortlist before you get in touch. Let us know whether you want to explore the range or see a specific pair, and we can help you plan your visit. Bring your current glasses, your prescription if you have it, and any frame photos you have saved. It also helps to tell us how you use your glasses and what budget you would like us to work within.

If you also need an eye examination, let us know when arranging your visit so we can help you book the appropriate appointment. Contact us about a styling visit.
